Funeral Note about the physical passing of the President of WISTA Angola

The family of Margareth Galho Platon announces with great sorrow her passing on 3rd August 2021, at University Hospital in Geneva, Switzerland.
Margareth Galho Platon was a kind human being, a lawyer, mother, lecturer, founder of WISTA Angola, Luanda Maritime Seminar, and very enthusiastic, with a great passion for life and always ready to lend a hand when needed.

BIOGRAPHIC NOTE:
Margareth Galho Platon was a registered Lawyer in Angola and General Manager of Margareth Galho&Associados.
She was a member of many international Associations and Working Groups, including but not limited to, as President of WISTA Angola and an active member of the Internal fellowship of Dispute Settlement Experts of the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea.
She is the Founder of the Luanda Maritime Seminar, Author of “Quasi Bandeiras de Conveniência” (quasi flags of convenience), and of the “West Africa Maritime Boundaries”. She was currently working on a publication project with the Nelson Mandela University, and she was currently working for the United Nations (UNODC), among other ongoing projects in the field of the Law of the Sea.

She has worked in many public institutions such as the Ministry of Justice of Angola, Ministry of Defense of Angola, where she was often requested to advised directly the Ministers. She was also part of many delegations including the Angolan delegation to the State Parties to the Law of the Sea that takes place every year in the UN.
Margareth has participated in the elaboration of the current Law of the Maritime Spaces of Angola, among many other state projects. She has also worked with the Angolan National Oil Company and a few of its subsidiaries.

Her vast experience with the public and private sector and her fluency in Portuguese, English, Romanian, and Intermediate working knowledge of French and Spanish put Margareth in the blessed position to discuss and understand many issues and of easy socialization in multi-cultural environments.
