TRADE COMMITTEE
Purpose:
The Trade Committee (TC) aims to create and/or strengthen collaborations for trade facilitation, considering the industry experience and expertise of WISTA members in the shipping, trading, and logistics sectors.
Scope:
- Establish a presence for WISTA in trading matters and an active role in identifying relevant legislation, practice and follow ups on projects and new trends.
- Actively support the ExCo as a resource for trading expertise
- Advocate for the simplification and less cumbersome trade documents,
- Gender capacity building and mainstreaming by proposing specific actions, programs and creating research that will support women to further develop and gain experience, in order to become the next future leaders in the trading Industry
- With the support of ExCO seek and cultivate partnerships with organizations and educational institutions, which have programs specifically involving trading.
