WISTA Venezuela attends the act of the LXXVIII Promotion of Third Officers of the Merchant Navy of the Maritime University of the Caribbean (UMC).

WISTA Venezuela was invited to the act of grant of titles, capons, credentials and diplomas to the LXXVIII Promotion of Third Officers of the Merchant Navy of the National Maritime Experimental University of the Caribbean (UMC). The event was chaired by the V/A Jorge Sierralta Vice President of the National Institute of Aquatic Spaces INEA.

For the first time in the history of the Nautical School and for merits obtained, a woman commanded the group of Parada, Yolaxis Aguilera, demonstrating that the role of women in the maritime sector is increasingly recognized nationally and internationally.

Débora Valera President of WISTA Venezuela and Elsy Rodríguez Executive Director of WISTA Venezuela, presented a recognition to the woman graduating with the highest academic index, attending the important invitation made by the Rector Captain of Height Guillermo Riut.

“We reaffirm our commitment as an Organization, with the women who belong to our Merchant Navy, contributing to the strengthening of nautical education, strengthening institutional ties and promoting maritime career on board,” said Débora Valera, President of WISTA Venezuela.
