WISTA Spain celebrates International Women’s Day

WISTA Spain celebrated International Women’s Day with a lunch meeting in Madrid attended by members and some relevant personalities from the Spanish Shipping Industry: Juan Riva (CEO Suardiaz Group), Julio Fuentes (Deputy General Manager Maritime Regulations and International Cooperation at Spanish Merchant Marine), Paula Amor (General Coordinator of MACOGASA Group), Elena Seco (Manager of ANAVE-Spanish Shipowners Association) and Ana Ulloa (Director of Castellon Port).

After a welcome speech where our President Rosana Velasco thanked attendants for their time and support, an interesting panel discussion about current and future challenges in our Industry in Spain took place. Attendants had the opportunity to discuss several current topics of interest such as the impact of Coronavirus and Brexit in the Shipping Industry, sustainable development, Spanish Ship Registries, European Green deal, effectiveness of the current and future legislation among others, reaching as a conclusion the importance of strengthening and increasing levels of communication, knowledge and especially interaction among the major players in Shipping.
