WISTA Spain at “Women in the Maritime and Fishery Industry” meeting

WISTA Spain had the pleasure to participate at the “I Andalusian meeting: Women in the maritime and fishery industry” that took place last 24th May in San Fernando, Cadiz organized by the Institute of Maritime Professional Training ZAPORITO, whose main objective is the contribution to gender equality in the maritime, ocean, port, fishing and related industries, promoting women’s empowerment in this sector.
Women from different areas of the shipping industry shared personal and professional experiences during the event. Among others, the meeting was attended by Elena Delgado (Sevilla Harbour Master), Capt. Antonio M. Padrón, (Technical Advisor of the DGMM and IMO Goodwill Maritime Ambassador), Israel Rodríguez ( Maritime Authority of Cádiz), Paz Jiménez (Director of the Oceanographic Center of Cádiz), Rocío Romo ( Fisheries Inspector of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food) and Milagros Daza and Manuela Vélez ( Fishing Net Makers of Barbate,Cádiz).
Ruth García, Captain of the Customs Surveillance Service (SVA) and member of WISTA Spain had the opportunity to introduce WISTA Spain to all the attendants who showed great interest towards the Association.
