Co-President WISTA Brazil, Fabiana Simões Martins, and her daughter visited the IMO HQ in London for the celebration of International Women’s Day 2019. During the session IMO launched the World Maritime Day theme “Empowering Women in the Maritime Community” highlighting their commitment to gender equality and advancing women in the maritime sector through their programmes that have given access to high-level technical training to some 500 participants with the establishment of maritime regional associations across Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, Latin America, the Middle East and Pacific Islands.
