April 14, 2020
Weeks ago, URUGUAY, through its Ministries, and specially through the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Health, initiated the #OperationEveryoneAtHome in order to cooperate with the return back home of the Uruguayans spread all over the world but also assisting foreigners who were in Uruguay, infected with the virus COVID-19, to return back to their own homes.
The #HumanitarianCorridor, organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, was launched in order to assure all the necessary sanitary guarantees concerning the disembarkation of passengers and crewmembers of several vessels, specially cruise vessels and one scientific vessel, which were not authorized to enter to any other port, organizing also the transport of all these citizens of different nationalities, to the airport or by road back home. When necessary, as in the cruise vessel’s cases, passengers were also assisted with medical evaluation and care. Photo attached.
We are very proud of Uruguay as it is the only country in the region who carried out this kind of humanitarian assistance, in this occasion to Germans, Argentineans, Australians, Austrians, Belgians, Brazilians, Bulgarians, Canadians, Croatians, Chinese, Danish, Slovaks, Slovenians, Spaniards, North Americans, Estonians, Finish, French, Greeks, Hong Kong, Israelis, Kuwaitis, New Zealanders, Dutch, British, Russians, Singaporeans, South Africans, Swedish, Swiss, South Koreans and Thailanders.
United and with solidarity we can reach better results!!
