Taking the men out of mentorship – an unintended outcome of the #metoo movement?
April 30, 2019
What a great crowd at Norton Rose Fulbright Singapore yesterday evening! Thank you to everyone who braved the rain to join our panel discussion of “Taking the men out of mentorship – an unintended outcome of the metoo movement?” Our Girl Bosses, Lim Ying Ying and Cheng Fan from Cargill, Kris Ang from Dualog and Ricole Tanfrom FTI Consulting told their stories of resilience, taking ownership of their careers, and mentors (whether formal or informal) who helped them along the way. Most heartening was listening to them share about how they are keen to now mentor young women… and men! In the shipping industry. Not forgetting our Mystery Male panelist Venkatraman Sheshashayee who made an impactful entrance and shared his views on gender awareness and how women are seeing a revolution today like never before. Take-aways – Have courage and dare to fail… and do not underestimate the power of being part of a Sisterhood (like WISTA)! #wistasingapore womenwhomovetheworld wistainspire
