End of a Year WISTA Argentina’s Cocktail Party

Wista Argentina celebrated the end of 2019 with a cocktail party  on board of the Frigate ARA SARMIENTO. The Argentinian Navy’s  band  played their  music while the guests  arrived  to the frigate. The orchestra and the Frigate ARA Sarmiento were  generously granted by the Argentine Navy to Wista Argentina.

The cellebration received   173 guests, 72 representing NGOs, embassies and institutions, 57 guests representing terminal ports, carriers and shipping agencies, 11 guests of press of international trade and 33 active members of Wista Argentina.

Wista Argentina concluded a year with many activities and with an important increase of institutions, carriers and government supporting our NWA, achievements obtained thanks to the five committees formed to assist to the new Ex-Co of Wista Argentina, launched in April 2019. Committees formed are: “Institutional Relations Committee”, “Communications Committee”, “Social Responsibility Committee”, “Academic Committee” and “Compliance Committee”. Through these committees, Wista Argentina organized during 2019 several activities such as  visits for members to terminal ports, boarding a ship while she was operating, coast cleaning, “Children’s day donations”, alliances with the “Centro de Navegacion of Argentina”, Federation of argentine shipowners, Port of Buenos Aires and Undersecretary of Argentine Ports and waterways, one- day  workshop including issues of Sustainability, communications and compliance in the shipping industry, introduction of Wista Argentina at the International Seminar of ports in Argentina, at the conference of the Parana- Argentine Waterway Committee, among many other activities.

We ended with many new goals set for 2020 and expecting many more  for  upcoming  2020 for our NWA
