Congratulations to Ania Zegota, Karolina Galowska, Mónica Gabriela Blanco and Cecilia Rojo Del Ponte on completing the 2026 Gender-inclusive Leadership in Maritime training course last month.
Delivered by the World Maritime University (WMU) in partnership with the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and WISTA International, the programme brought together 23 maritime professionals from 18 countries to strengthen leadership capacity and advance gender-inclusive approaches across the maritime sector.
This year, WISTA International was proud to sponsor four people, with Ania, Karolina, Monica and Cecilia participating in the course over the summer months which combined online learning with a five-day residential component at WMU in Malmo. Covering topics such as critical thinking, gender mainstreaming, stakeholder analysis, project planning, risk management, monitoring and evaluation, and effective leadership and communication, it was wonderful to hear how valuable they found the course.
