Welcome To WISTA Argentina

Established in 1974, the Women’s International Shipping & Trading Association (WISTA International) is a global organisation connecting female executives and decision-makers around the world. WISTA International serves as a connector for its network of more than 5,100 female professionals from all sectors of the maritime industry.

62 countries support a National WISTA Association (NWA), each of which in turn is a member of and is guided by WISTA International. NWAs provide in-country and regional networking, business and skill-building opportunities, corporate visibility, and also facilitate relationships within the industry.

On a global scale, WISTA members have access to an incredibly diverse network of executives in the shipping and trading field on whom they can call for referrals, connections, advice or business cooperation.

WISTA Argentina was founded in 2012 by Mrs María Belén Espiñeira, Vilma Carlini, Azucena Siverino, Muriel Maurizzio, Veronica Taubas, Ana Brunet and Melisa Esquivel, members   who supported the founding of the National WISTA Association in Argentina. Today WISTA Argentina is led by Mrs. Vivana Fonseca, current President of our NWA.

With the aim of supporting the professional career of women in maritime, WISTA reaches the goal of the association’s mission:   give visibility to the role of women in the maritime industry, foster the equity of opportunities, grant its members support and tools to enhance commercial opportunities, contribute to their professional growth, and generate bonding with other associations.

WISTA Argentina hosts 70 members who contribute with each other with their knowledge, their commercial relationships, their professional background, and at the same time share friendship and companionship, generating a strong network which benefits the professional and personal growth of all of us.
