WISTA SL took part in The CASA Maritime Conference 2023 ‘EMBARKING TOWARDS A BLUE HORIZON: Exploring Possibilities for the Sri Lankan Maritime Community,’

“The CASA Maritime Conference 2023 was held on October 24th at The Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo, with a focus on the theme ‘EMBARKING TOWARDS A BLUE HORIZON: Exploring Possibilities for the Sri Lankan Maritime Community,’ in celebration of World Maritime Day 2023, which occurred on September 28th.

WISTA SL organized the third session, titled ‘Sri Lankan Policies for a Vibrant, Thriving, and Competitive Maritime Sector – Future-Proofing Sri Lanka’s Maritime Proposition Through Policy, Innovation, and Digitalization.’ The speaker for this session was Ms. Shehara De Silva, the Group Managing Director of McLarens Holdings Ltd.

Following the session, there was a panel discussion with the following panelists: Ms. Shehara De Silva – Group Managing Director – McLarens Holdings Ltd, Ms. Subhashini Abeysinghe – Research Director – Verite Research, Dr. (Ms.) Dulini Mudunkotuwa – Head, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, University of Sri Jayawardenapura, Mr. Thulci Aluwihare – Deputy Managing Director – CHEC Port City Colombo (Pvt) Ltd, and Mr. Saliya Weerakoon – Policy & Political Advisor.

The session was moderated by Ms. Aruni Wijepala – Deputy General Manager, SBU Head, Hayleys Energy Services Lanka (Pvt) Ltd and an Executive Committee Member of WISTA Sri Lanka, as well as Ms. Anjalika Perera – Senior Manager – Commercial, GAC Shipping Ltd, and an Executive Committee Member of WISTA Sri Lanka.”
