COVID-19, Resilience and Cybersecurity.

The last May 7th, 21 countries and more than 170 people were connected on the Seminary of “Resilience and  Cybersecurity”, organized along with the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean – ECLAC (the Spanish acronym is CEPAL), a dependent organization of the United Nations – UN, and responsible of the promotion of economic and social development of the region, the Networking of Women in Maritime Authorities in Latin America – “Red MAMLa” and WISTA Organizations from Argentine, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Panama, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela, sponsored by APLA, OMCPL, SOMEMARPORT y ANDI.

Paula Pastén, President of WISTA Chile, was in charge of deliver the opening words in representation of the NWA’s of the Latin America region.

We thank to Mr. Ricardo Sánchez, Senior Officer of Economic Affairs of (ECLAC), for his support and endorsement to the initiatives that have already started between WISTA and ECLAC.

Different disruptive changes in business models and the productive supply chains that hold them, are imminent.

In the next five years we will be producing more data that in the whole humankind history. The changes will be so vertiginous that will change the way we live, work and we get related, showing an impact to the countries, companies, industries and the whole society.

The supply chain, as a fundamental part of this process, will not be divorced of these important changes. This fourth industrial revolution is characterized by velocity, breadth and depth in which will occur.

The logistics system of the future, in consequence is pointing the information interconnectivity, time and resources optimization, along with a strong investment and innovation development in order to maintain the competitiveness.

The future is immediate, is NOW!
