Empowering Women in the Maritime Community – panel discussion at IMO

Four NGO:s; International Chamber of Shipping (ICS), BIMCO, INTERTANKO and WISTA International, with the support of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), held a panel discussion on this year’s World Maritime Day theme of “Empowering Women in the Maritime Community“, at IMO’s London headquarters on May 1st, 2019.

Sakura Kuma (Executive Director of the Port of Yokohama), Fran Collins (CEO of Red Funnel Group), Katy Ware (Maritime Safety and Standards Director at the UK Maritime Coastguard Agency), Despina Theodossiou (CEO of Tototheo Maritime and President of WISTA International) and Kathi Stanzel, (MD of INTERTANKO), moderated by Guy Platten (Secretary-General of ICS) joined the discussion on ways to break the barriers for women in the industry.
