Welcome To WISTA Peru

In April 2018, with the vision and passion of eleven (11) founders, we took the first step in writing our history: the birth of WISTA PERU. And what a history we have built! The path has not been without challenges, but we have proven that resilience and unity are our greatest strengths. Even in the face of the adversity of the pandemic, we not only survived, we thrived!

Today, we are eighty inspiring leaders, women who not only dream, but also act. We have consolidated WISTA PERU as a vibrant and powerful National WISTA Association (NWA), breaking ground and creating unprecedented opportunities in the maritime, port, foreign trade, and logistics sectors. Our commitment transcends the individual; we are building a legacy for future generations, a legacy of equity and empowerment.

We have achieved remarkable achievements:

• Exponential Growth: From eleven to eighty members, we have built a strong and diverse community. Resilience and Adaptation: We overcame the challenges of the pandemic, strengthening our network and adapting to new realities.
• Strategic Alliances: We established coordination and cooperation mechanisms with the public and private sectors, expanding our impact.
• Recognized Leadership: We have positioned ourselves as a benchmark in the sector, promoting female leadership and equal opportunities.

We know there are still challenges ahead, but our determination is unwavering. Together, we will continue moving toward a more equal future. Today, we celebrate our achievements and extend an invitation: Join us! Let’s join forces to build a world where equality is a reality.

My sincere thanks to each of our members, to our dedicated board of directors, and especially to my executive committee, whose support, commitment, and dedication have driven our progress. Their work has strengthened our unity and driven us to continue moving forward. To the new board of directors, I wish the greatest success. I am confident that, with your visionary leadership and passion, WISTA PERU will reach new heights and establish itself as an undisputed leader in our sector. Mission

WISTA is an international networking organization whose mission is to attract and support women, at the management level, in the maritime, trading and logistics sectors.
WISTA works toward:

• Minimizing the existing gender leadership gap in the maritime, trading and logistics sectors.
• Building a community among its members, facilitating the exchange of contacts, information, and experiences
• Promoting the creation of business relationships among its members
• Facilitating the professional development of its members
• Providing liaison with other related institutions and organizations worldwide

Vision

WISTA promotes diversity in the maritime, trading and logistics sectors, empowering women to lead through their unique perspective and competencies, with the conviction that gender diversity is key in providing a sustainable future for the shipping industry internationally.

The success of WISTA is dependent on the trust and confidence we earn from our members and the industry at large. We gain credibility by adhering to our commitments, displaying honesty and integrity, and reaching our goals through honourable conduct.

GUIDING AND GOVERNING PRINCIPLES

• Members of WISTA’s NWAs shall be honest and treat all members with dignity and respect;
• Members of WISTA’s NWAs shall respect the opinions of members, as well as the cultural differences amongst members;
• Members of WISTA’s NWAs shall work together cooperatively for the betterment of the Association and will not use WISTA for their own personal gain to the detriment of the Association;
• Members of WISTA’s NWAs shall strive to be known by the maritime industry as fair, honest, diligent, hardworking, and caring people with integrity;
• WISTA shall endeavour to advance the interests of women in the maritime industry and promote an exchange of contacts and experiences among the members of its NWAS, which could lead to new business and new business relationships;
• WISTA supports the founding of new NWAs to broaden networking opportunities and encourages cooperation among neighbouring NWAs and regions, including sharing best practices and ideas to help all NWAs grow and be successful, for everyone’s benefit; and
• Members of WISTA’s NWAs shall strive to be professional, dynamic, open-minded, and committed in all aspects of their professional and personal lives.
