AI, Ahoy! What a Brilliant Start to 2026!
A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for AI for Maritime Professionals, last week, our very first event in our 2026 line-up, and what a way to begin!
From demystifying AI basics to diving into practical tools that can genuinely make life easier, the room was buzzing with curiosity, questions and great conversation. It’s safe to say AI has officially sailed into the maritime world.
A very special thank you to our fantastic lecturer, Alan Caruana, for delivering such an insightful, practical and refreshingly down-to-earth session. Complex concepts suddenly felt far less daunting and far more exciting.
We explored some of the newest AI models making waves, including Gemini, Notebook LM and even the intriguingly named Nano Banana (proof that AI doesn’t have to take itself too seriously). Seeing how these tools can be applied in practical work scenarios sparked plenty of ideas and no doubt a few future projects too.
Our thanks also go to Fenech & Fenech Advocates for so kindly hosting us and for the lovely networking drinks afterwards. There’s nothing quite like bringing WISTA members together over a glass of wine to continue the conversation, share insights and strengthen connections. The networking session was the perfect way to round off an energising afternoon. Most importantly, thank you to all our WISTA members who attended and contributed to the lively discussion , your engagement is what makes these events so valuable.
More events are on the horizon, so do stay tuned. And if you’re considering joining WISTA Malta, we would be delighted to welcome you on board.
Here’s to innovation, collaboration and an exciting year ahead!
