WISTA NIGERIA GIFTS FISHING BOATS AND ENGINES TO WOMEN IN OSHOROKO AND SAGBOKOJI COMMUNITIES IN LAGOS STATE NIGERIA

As part of her community development and corporate social responsibility initiatives in empowering women whose means of livelihood and trade is basically from the sea, WISTA Nig recently gifted fishing boats to the women of two fishing communities in Oshoroko and SagboKoji communities in Nigeria under the current leadership of the President Eunice Ezeoke and her Executives. Speaking at the event the King of Oshoroko community HRM Ebenezer Olusegun Oyiri the Olosoroko of Oshoroko Kingdom stated that this act from the association will go a long way in empowering the women and the community at large. While representatives of the local government and Commissioner for Agriculture Lagos State were also present. In a similar development, the Baale of SagboKoji Community admonished the women to make good use of the boat which has brought succour to them in this period of economic hardship. Both communities attested to the fact that the gifting of the boats and engines is the first of its kind to these communities as such gestures is unknown to other surrounding communities, this indeed they say is the first of its kind.
