Iro Gidakou – First female Captain in Cyprus

WISTA Cyprus proudly announces, that its’ member Iro Gidakou, as of the 20th of February, 2019, has officially became Capt. Iro Gidakou, the first Cypriot female to qualify as Captain.

It gives us great pride and joy, that  “a life’s dream has been accomplished,” as Iro described it. A difficult journey without doubt, Iro has served on commercial vessels since 2008 and has managed to prove that hard work and pursuing your aspirations with passion, is the only weapon required to disrupt the status quo and diminish any barriers.
