At SailPlan, we’re delivering a better future for the maritime/shipping industry. SailPlan provides a software and data analytics platform that allows ship operators benchmark and optimize fleet data in real-time.

As a business development leader, you will be responsible for cultivating strategic maritime industry relationships to drive growth. By communicating the value of the product to key customers you will be able to drive major environmental advancement initiatives by ultimately getting SailPlan technology on board vessels and in ports and terminals around the world.


Introduce SailPlan’s technology to prospective customers and industry players though virtual and in-person meetings and industry events.

Nurture and develop relationships with key prospects. Drive growth by presenting solutions to high level decision makers in Operations, Engineering and IT.

Understand needs of customer to develop solutions that work for them.

Provide specialist advice on products and services.

Basic Qualifications

5+ years of successful B2B or B2C marine industry business development experience.

Possesses a hunter’s mindset with demonstrated success in cultivating, nurturing, and securing new business.

Achievement oriented, proactive and able to generate business development activity with little oversight.

Preferred Qualifications

Based in or willingness to relocate to South Florida is a plus

Enjoys the water and being on and around boats

Maritime, Naval or USCG Academy alumni

 Other Information

This is a full-time remote position. US citizen or work permit required.

This is a family oriented, flexible work environment. One could remain as a strong individual contributor (if desired) or eventually grow a business development team beneath them.
