Logistics Representative- Nashville, TN
Responsible for updating and coordinating international shipments in an effective and timely manner with importers, exporters, agents and vendors to maximize profitability while ensuring customer requirements (including, but not limited to, handling day-to-day operations and transportation with occasional spot rate negotiation with vendors and foreign agents, arranging bookings for international air freight and ocean freight shipments from customers, and updating foreign agents on shipment information, etc.). Maintaining customer and vendor relationships at operational levels (including, but not limited to, consistent regular communication with customers and vendors on their needs, expectations and targeted delivery/pickup dates along with discussion on potential opportunities for further growth and collaboration).
What you will be doing:
Work closely with other departments in order to manage the business proficiently while understanding the cost of doing business
- Collaborate with sales team to understand customer requirements
- Maintain and communicate our Zero Harm efforts
- Manage customer needs by partnering, collaborating and communicating with the appropriate internal and external parties
- Provide updated information to customers, vendors and internal support
- Partner with accounting to verify and process vendor invoices in a timely manner
- Maintain accurate data entry and reporting into production systems
- Identify and include GM regarding customer and vendor related issues
- Support department activities regularly and actively participate when in attendance
- Provide updated information to customers, vendors and internal support
What we’re looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 2 – 3 years of customer service experience preferred
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products
- Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Acute attention to detail
- Proficiency with pertinent logistical programs
