WISTA USA NOLA – Lunch & Learn: Lincoln Paine
March 12, 2019
Hello Ladies,
I am excited to share details of our next event – Lunch & Learn with renowned Author, Lincoln Paine. Lincoln is a trustee of the Maine Maritime Museum, and the author Down East: An Illustrated History of Maritime Maine and The Sea and Civilization: A Maritime History of the World. His forthcoming work is entitled Global America and How It Got that Way: A Maritime History of the United States, which incorporates a history of the Mississippi River. While Lincoln brings a wealth of knowledge around of topics that run the gamut of his academic expertise, including rivers, geopolitics, the history of maritime law, for our Lunch & Learn he will focus on maritime history as the study of human ecology, namely how people interact with the natural, technological, and social environments. Special thanks to Barrett Rice and Jeanne Amy for helping to coordinate this event. This is sure to be a fantastic and educational meeting you won’t want to miss!
