WISTA Members Take on SCI Mountain Challenge

September26 -29, WISTA members Blythe Daly (FL), Boriana Farrar (NY), and Jeanne Grasso (DC) will be participating the Seamen’s Church Institute Mountain Challenge.  The Seamen’s Church Institute was founded in 1834 in the Port of New York.  It now supports blue water and brown water mariners at its facilities in Newark, NJ, Paducah, KY, and Houston, TX, and worldwide through its advocacy.  In June, SCI presented its Silver Bell Award to WISTA “in recognition of outstanding leadership in the maritime community, significant commitment to merchant mariners and engagement with issues facing the maritime industry” (https://seamenschurch.org/article/42nd-annual-silver-bell-awards-dinner)

The WISTA Sistas will hike and paddle almost 25 miles and 10,000 vertical feet. More about the event can be found here: http://scimountainchallenge.com/.
