WISTA Brazil Attends Navy Event to Welcome IMO Secretary-General

On April 27, 2024, WISTA Brazil participated in an event hosted by the Brazilian Navy at the Naval War School in Rio de Janeiro. The meeting welcomed Arsenio Dominguez, Secretary-General of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), in a ceremony that brought together authorities and representatives from the maritime sector.
Ana Paula Costa, Co-President of WISTA Brazil, had the honor of presenting the association’s history and projects, highlighting the growth and positive impact achieved. Her presentation provided a comprehensive view of the association’s role in promoting diversity and inclusion in the maritime sector, showcasing initiatives that advance women in various areas of the industry.
In addition to Ana Paula Costa, other WISTA Brazil representatives were present, including Vice President Flávia Melo and Institutional Relations Director Fabiana Durant, who is also an ExCo member of WISTA Brazil and a Maritime Goodwill Ambassador for the IMO in Brazil.
