International Day for Women in Maritime

May 16, 2024 to May 17, 2024

On May 16th, WISTA Venezuela will be hosting a dinner party to celebrate the International Day of Women in Maritime. Together with the Venezuelan Maritime Law Association and the Iberoamerican Institute of Maritime Law.

Every year it is an opportunity to evaluate how far we have come and how much has been achieved in the last couple of decades. Shipping and trade were an unknown territory for most women, now this has significantly shifted.

Equal opportunities, equal rights and equal pay, for all women in the Maritime industry is the goal.

IMO  has chosen for 2024 theme: “Safe Horizons: Women Shaping the Future of Maritime Safety”
