Welcome To WISTA Venezuela
WISTA Venezuela plans to design, build and lead the empowerment of women in the maritime sector, in order to ensure that we are a visible human resource, raising the professional profile and providing opportunities for the integral development of each of our women.
Being recognized as a member of WISTA International, allows us to make available to the members of WISTA Venezuela a wide network of contacts at national and international level to generate new business opportunities, developing links with organizations linked to the activity such as IMO, ICS, Bimco , CIP, to carry out training initiatives, jobs, participation and recognition of the leadership we have achieved in the sector, which will undoubtedly help strengthen the maritime industry in Venezuela.
Currently the participation and integration of women in the maritime sector is a topic that has been received with greater importance within the International Organizations, equal importance must be given in the national associations of each country, gender equity must be understood as “equal opportunities” and the State, the maritime authority, public and private organizations, companies of the sector, must focus their efforts to guarantee the same in all areas of the maritime field. We must assume the commitment by eliminating all forms of discrimination against women. The IMO has set the example with the approval of WISTA International as a consultative member, allowing us to be part of the United Nations processes and participate in the various IMO committees.
“Throughout history, there have been many women who, with their work, have made a difference and with their words have helped others to have the courage to empower themselves, as the founding president of WISTA Venezuela, I want to be part of the indelible waves that we will leave in the development of the maritime sector “.
