Welcome To WISTA UK

WISTA UK is the longest existing national WISTA countries, as it was in London that WISTA was founded in 1974. London and the UK are very proud to be the birthplace of our international organisation that over the years has grown worldwide.

Here in the UK we have well in excess of 180 members, many of them having been with us for many years, contributing much valuable input; at the same time, we encourage and invite young people starting in the industry to join us, as they are the ones who will most appreciate support and mentoring and can benefit enormously from all our contacts and experience.

WISTA UK aims to be a major player in attracting more women to the industry and in supporting women in shipping and maritime sectors. Through networking, education and mentoring together we can enhance members’ competence and empower career success.

In general, our members are well known, successful and respected in the UK and abroad.

WISTA UK is looking to relaunch WISTA Southampton, WISTA North West and launch WISTA North East during 2019
