Welcome To WISTA Denmark

WISTA Denmark was re-established in 2022 as a national branch of WISTA International. WISTA Denmark has an ambition to develop an inclusive network across the maritime value chain representing women on-shore and off-shore as well as making full use of the entire WISTA international network. The benefits of WISTA include an international network, creating business relationships, facilitating members’ professional development, sharing knowledge, and friendship. With over 5,100 members within maritime logistics and trade, across 59 National WISTA Organisations (NWAs), WISTA International provides further a resource and potential partnering option to Blue Denmark’s inclusion and diversity agenda. 

WISTA Denmark is focusing on 3 main pillars:

1. International network
   1. Facilitating the exchange of contacts, information and experiences amongst members across the globe
   2. Participate and contribute to the WISTA International committees and it’s work with international organizations (e.g. IMO, UNCTAD, Maritime SheEO, Women in Transport – EU Platform for Change)
   3. Ensure Danish representation in the International maritime community and raise the profile and voice of women in the Danish maritime sector on an international level
2. Mentorship
   1. Women at sea – to provide support, help and guidance to female seafarers and raise awareness as to the issues faced at sea
   2. New to the industry – to provide education, experience and support to newcomers to the industry and help them to achieve their desired goals
3. Collaboration
   1. Working with other Danish maritime organizations to strengthen and empower women in the maritime industry
   2. Working with other national WISTA associations to share ideas, best practices and provide support – particularly throughout the Nordics but also across the world

WISTA Denmark accepts membership requests from any level within the maritime sector. Full membership with voting rights is an annual fee of 800 DKK. We also encourage students and men to join as associate members (without voting rights) to support WISTA Denmark. Associate membership is an annual fee of 400 DKK.
