Wellness in Her Routine – WISTA Sri Lanka Hosts Wellness Session Focused on Women’s Physical Wellbeing

In a continued effort to support the personal and professional growth of its members, WISTA Sri Lanka, through its Training and Development Subcommittee, recently hosted an exclusive wellness session centered on women’s physical wellbeing. This timely initiative recognized the immense pressure faced by women in balancing demanding careers and personal commitments—often at the expense of their own health.
The session was led by Dr. Thimathi D. Wickramasekara, a renowned nutrition expert and clinician in Sri Lanka. His insightful and engaging presentation created a welcoming space for participants to explore vital topics in health and nutrition.
Key areas of discussion included the importance of maintaining a balanced diet, the benefits of mindful eating, managing stress through nutrition, and addressing common women’s health concerns through dietary choices. Dr. Wickramasekara tailored his session to address the unique lifestyle challenges women face, offering practical strategies for integrating wellness into their daily routines.
More than just a talk on physical health, the session served as a powerful reminder of the need to nurture overall wellbeing—body, mind, and spirit. It encouraged members to take a proactive approach to self-care, reinforcing the idea that caring for oneself is essential to being able to care for others.
