From the 25th to the 27th October, Wista International AGM and Conference took place in Montevideo, Capital city of Uruguay, at the Radisson Victoria Plaza hotel.

The event was attended by more than 200 women from different countries.

The main reason for the gathering was the AGM but there was also an instance for the meeting and interchange of the Presidents of several National Wista Associations.

On the second day of the gathering at the Conference we had the presence of IMO authorities, local governmental and maritime authorities as well as excellent speakers.  Different debates were raised on general maritime, environmental and development interest issues.

We cannot forget the night events where part of the Uruguayan culture could be appreciated as the Tango show at the Zitarrosa Theatre, dinner gala with “asado” and folklore show.  On the last day there were different tours organized for the attendees and spouses such as bus tour through the city, walks through the Old City where the history, architecture and culture of the zone could be appreciated and a tour to a vineyard in the Canelones area which were a success

On behalf of all Wista Uruguay members, we want to thank you very much for the excellent reply we had to our invitation and once again express that it was a pleasure to receive you all in our country, to share activities, reinforce existing links, generate new ones, exchange knowledge and above all network with women of such a high value representing different countries around the world.
