WISTA INTERNATIONAL COMMITTEES

WISTA’s Standing Committees are responsible for broaching individual issues that touch on the organization’s stated objectives, as stipulated in our articles of association and founding principles, as well as considering broader issues that affect shipping, trade and transports, in general.

Within this framework, the Committees will:

• Offer overall support to the ExCo, where and when necessary.
• Follow international developments that affect their particular scope of interest, and in turn brief the ExCo and NWAs when necessary.
• Assist and participate if needed in the preparation of WISTA’s presence in regional and international forums.
• Seize opportunities from private companies’ drive for capacity-building in diversity programs by offering our expertise.

The Committees are composed of members from around the world, and from as many different NWAs as possible (one person from every NWA per Committee at a time), in order to boost inclusion and diversity in decision-making, as well as one member as indicated by the WISTA International President. The Committees will operate based on the Working Committees Protocol (attached hereto).
